climval released on PyPI
climval, an open Python library for checking climate models against ERA5, CMIP6 and CORDEX, is on PyPI under Apache 2.0. One install, and a model can be checked against the references the field trusts.

Why validation matters
Climate models inform decisions about flood defences, farming and energy for decades ahead. Before anyone relies on one, it has to be compared with what the climate has done and with what other models say. ERA5 is the reference record of past weather, while CMIP6 and CORDEX are the global and regional model ensembles researchers compare against.
Open and installable
climval puts those comparisons in one library, published on PyPI so anyone can install it with a single command. The code is open under Apache 2.0, free to use in research and in commercial work.
It is one of the open code bases behind Northflow's Earth observation work, alongside CERES, LITHOS and PSE.
