The code is open.

Libraries and notebooks published as open source, runnable in the browser.

The challenge

Science behind closed code asks to be taken on trust.

When the code is closed, nobody outside can check the method, find the mistake or build on the work. The result stays a black box.

We publish the code behind our systems. CERES, LITHOS, PSE and climval are open on GitHub under Apache 2.0, and our notebooks run in the browser without installing anything.

What we deliver.

  • Publish libraries as open source under Apache 2.0.
  • Release Python packages on PyPI, such as climval.
  • Run notebooks in the browser, with nothing to install.
  • Keep the method and the code in the same place.

How it works.

Build
The code is written to be read by others from the first commit.
Publish
Repositories on GitHub, packages on PyPI.
Open
Notebooks anyone can run straight from the browser.
